Bio of Andrew Skidmore


Family: Married Paula Skidmore (Horejs), four children: Rob – 17, Kim – 15, Devon – 14 and Jodie – 11.  Rob was the New York State, Division II, High School 400m hurdle Champion in 2003 and the Empire State Games 400m hurdle champion for Scholastic Men.

Church: I have served as Elders Quorum president in 4 different states, Young Men’s president several times, unit mission leader, counselor in a bishopric, Branch President, Scoutmaster, Nursery leader, home teacher, Sunday school teacher, ward clerk

Education: B.S. in Veterinary Science at Kansas State University in 1982. DVM in Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 1984. PhD in Dairy Management at Cornell University in 1990.

Work: I was in a private veterinary practice in south central Wisconsin before going back to school at Cornell. After Cornell I was on the faculty at Michigan State University.  Then moved back to New York to be a farm business consultant for Farm Credit Banks.  Then joined a veterinary clinic to lead some research and development work and manage dairy farms. Currently I am working for a feed company to provide technical support to the sales staff in working with large dairies.

Hobbies: My kids and I play with Longhorn cattle

It was a great testimony building experience.  Some day I will get written all the war stories to correct all the misinformation that is out there.
