Just 60 days to go to the reunion! Here's what's in
this mailing:
1. Multimedia committee: DVD being created - contribute!
2. Food committee: Menus selected, money being accepted.
3. Activities committee: Golf, a picnic, ice cream, more.
4. Music committee: Will you sing CA Royal Army for us?
5. Locating committee: Help us find all CA missionaries.
This is a 4-page mailing. You may want to print it out
for easier reading.

1. From the
multimedia committee:
In connection with this reunion, we are planning to produce
a multimedia DVD or video and invite you to participate with your contributions
from the mission. We will need to have them as soon as possible, but no
later than the first week of September. If we could shoot for the 15th of
August, that would be very helpful. You may drop them by my office
(Loren Ashcraft) at the Church Office Building, 22nd Floor, room 2266 or mail
them to me (see below).
As for the format of the slides, photos, etc., it would be
best to have the actual slides, photos, etc., and I can do the digital
conversion for the video. It will be important to identify the details of
"who" or "what" is in each slide or photograph. Those who
send materials can get them back at the reunion, or we can mail them back
immediately after converting them to the proper digital format. If
someone wants to scan their own, I can give them the particulars of what we
will need, but it will usually be better if they send the original materials.
Anyone who has materials they want in the video can coordinate with me about
the details either on the phone or though my home email listed below.
We should be able to have both videos or DVD's for those who
want them. Because of the cost of materials, it may be better to take orders,
and collect money to cover the costs before making too many. It may be
possible to have some ready for the reunion for those who pay in advance, with
the others delivered after the reunion. DVD's with case and artwork would be
around $6 each, including shipping. The VHS tapes would be about the same
due to duplication costs. My address is:

please respond to this email and indicate it so we can get an estimate of how
many to make.

2. From the
food committee:
Although we recognize that you are coming to the reunion to
see old missionary companions and your mission president, we are planning
on presenting a good dinner for your enjoyment. We would like your input
on making a choice between two menus:
Mexican Food: Fajitas, ground season beef, taquitos,
enchiladas (beef or chicken) taco shells & tortillas, (to create tacos)
beans, rice, salad along with assorted desserts.
Luau: Pulled Pork, Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken with
Tropical Rice, Chef's choice salad, Oriental Salad, Fresh Fruit Salad, Fresh
Baked Rolls, Assorted Dessert Buffet.
Either buffet will be 15.00 per person. That
includes the tax, gratuity, set-up and take-down and all of the paper goods
etc. The food promises to be excellent. The catering company is
very popular in the Salt Lake Valley and has been used by the Church for many
events.
If you feel strongly about either choice, please respond to
this email and let us know. Thanks. You may also contact Shauna
Hooper if you would like to help in any way on the food committee:

We are also now ready to start accepting funds to pay for
the dinner. You may send your checks to:

3. From the
activities committee:
Here is a list of additional activities that we are
considering organizing. We would like to know what level of interest
there might be in participating in these activities:
1. Friday "bring-your-own" picnic for families,
couples or individuals at a park or canyon (noon to 2 p.m.).
2. Friday early a.m. golf (7-8 a.m. tee time to allow for picnic participation
if desired).
3. Friday late a.m. golf (for those who aren't early risers - would not be able
to do picnic, if we do it).
4. Sat. a.m. breakfast (informal...a predetermined restaurant would be
designated).
5. Sat box lunch on temple square lawn or someplace very close by between Sat.
conference sessions.
6. Sat evening ice cream social (to start an hour after Priesthood Mtg) at a
designated ice cream/eating place.
We would also like to know if there is any interest in
getting group rates at a hotel
or two nearest the Stake Center.
If you have an interest in participating in any of these
activities, please respond to this email and let us know. The golf is of
particular interest to Mike Lacey
as he will be organizing that.

4. From the
music committee:
Actually, we don't have a music committee. We are
looking for some help in this area. We would like to have some special
music presented during the part of the reunion where we all meeting in the
chapel. Remember, here's the schedule
for the evening:
5:30 to 6:30 - Meet and greet
6:30 to 7:20 - Eat
7:30 to 8:30 - formal reunion meeting
8:30 and beyond - dessert and open visiting
If anybody would like to volunteer a special musical number,
it would be greatly appreciated. We are particularly interested in having
someone sing "CA Royal Army". Here is a link to the words: http://3tcm.dock.net/MissionSong.htm
Contact Brent
Romney directly if you would like to sing for us that evening. We
hope that all will want to sing along, otherwise we'll have to hear Brent sing
it. bromney@uici.net
Seriously, if anybody would like to sing a nice song for us,
related to missionary work or Central America, please let us know. We
would love to hear from you.

5. From the
locating committee:
We hope you have enjoyed the web page
and especially the bios that have
been submitted. Phil Wing
did the majority of the work in finding most of you on the list, but you can
see that we still haven't found everyone. Please take a look at the MIA lists and see if there is
anyone you can add.
The organizing committee will be presenting special
recognition to those LTM / MTC districts that have the greatest attendance at
the reunion. We continue to invite you to submit your bio using this form if you haven't already
done so.
Mike Lacey
spent several hours with Pres
Eagar a month or two ago and recorded it all on video. He will be
presenting a summary of his visit on our web page. We hope Pres
Eagar will be able to attend the reunion. Pres Muren will definitely
be there. We hope to see you there too!
If you haven't submitted your RSVP, or would like to update
your status, please respond to this email indicating if you will attend and how
many will be with you. Thanks. See you in October.
