Bio of Dave Frame

Family: Married to Lisa with four children: daughter: Jenny (22), son: Morgan (19), son: Dana (18), daughter: Alison (12).  My wife Lisa is the greatest person I have ever known. She is also an extremely talented pianist. Lisa has a gift of being able to work with people in an open and caring way. She has been able to affect the lives of many people, not only in her church callings, but also by just being interested in as people and neighbors.

We have a daughter who is a senior at Utah State University. She is a very good pianist and loves to play tennis and hockey. (She can skate much better than I!) Our oldest son, Morgan, is currently serving in the Mexico Guadalajara South Mission. Dana is attending Snow College and waiting to turn in his mission papers as soon as he turns 19. Our youngest child, Alison, attends the Ephraim Middle School and plays both the cello and piano.

Church: We are happy to serve wherever called. Lisa is the Education Counselor of our ward Relief Society Presidency and I am currently serving as executive secretary of the Ephraim Utah Stake.

Education: We left Logan, Utah in 1980 after graduating with a BS in Animal Science from Utah State University. We attended veterinary school 1980-84 at Oregon State University and Washington State University, graduating in the spring of 1984. After a short stint in private veterinary practice in Layton, Utah, we moved to Modesto, California to complete a two-year residency program in avian medicine at the University of California at Davis.

Work: I worked 12 years as head veterinarian for Moroni Feed Company, a turkey growing cooperative located in the Sanpete Valley of Central Utah. My current employment is with Utah State University as an associate professor / Extension poultry specialist in the Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences Department.

Hobbies: There has not been much time left for hobbies after family, work, and church activities take their share. I have a passionate love of skating, although ice is somewhat hard to come by locally here in Sanpete. Studying avian biology and going bird watching are important relaxing pastimes. I love to study early Utah and Mormon history, and Indian culture -- particularly of the Great Basin. The Spanish language is another area that I spend time studying. I have had the opportunity to use Spanish frequently at work and have been involved in technical translation of professional poultry manuscripts, as well as serving as moderator in Spanish-speaking professional poultry conferences.

Comps: Steve Flint, Scott Johnson, Richard Allen, Robert Connell, Daniel McLaughlin, Miguel Aguilar, Ray Shelton, Jeff Shepherd, Joaquin Herrera, Kevin Benson, Bruce Theurer.  Areas Served: Leon, Nicaragua, Comayaguela, Honduras, Hatillo 4, San Jose, Costa Rica, Heredia, Costa Rica.

Memories: The multitude of mission experiences has served as a benchmark in dealing with family life, social relations, and gaining a stronger and stronger testimony of the gospel. I can hardly think of a case being involved in Church service that I have not sometime or other pulled from mission experiences dealing with similar circumstances to the problem at hand.
