Question:
What in the world are you doing in Alaska?
Answer: Staying far, far away from crowds. I live 16 miles out of Fairbanks and 8 miles from North Pole out in the forest. We have moose in the yard, beaver in the pond down the road, bears, wolves and not a single neighbor I can see from my front door. I drive prototype Volkswagens and Audis for cold weather testing in the winter and ride my Harley all summer when it's light 24 hours a day. It's a great lifestyle!
I live with my bride of 25 years in the woods outside a little town called North Pole, Alaska. The kids are all moved out so the cabin is quiet. We are a martial arts family which gives us a great winter activity and in the summer I ride my Harley. Last November I opened up a new Taekwon-do school. It's name is Three Dragons Martial Arts Academy. My 23 year old daughter, Alicia, is the head instructor. She and her brothers are 3rd degree blackbelts and all college students now. My Mexican bride teaches spanish at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. There are moose in the yard, beavers in the river nearby, and wolves out there somewhere (I can hear them). We have no traffic noise or n-people noise (neighbors) which makes for a very quiet existence. I dropped out of the rat race for this and it is sweet.
