Bio of Eric Kraus

Family: Married to Victoria L. Kraus.  Children: Craig Stuart – 20, Alisen Lanee – 18, Shayla Marie – 15.  My wife went back to school after having our three kids and received her Accounting degree from ASU with a 4.0 grade point average.  My oldest son Craig is currently serving a full-time mission in the Guatemala City South mission.  My oldest daughter Alisen just graduated from high school and will be going to school and playing soccer at a local junior college.  My youngest daughter Shayla is going to be a sophomore next year and is a highly competitive volleyball player.

Callings: I've served various church callings.  I am currently serving in the bishopric as the first counselor.  School: Went to college for a year before my mission and when I got home because of financial pressures was forced to begin work right away.  Work: I own a commercial landscaping company.  Hobbies: I love to spend time watching my kids in their sporting events.  I've coached baseball and soccer over the years.  Now the kids have progressed to a point where I can no longer coach them.  I am an avid Diamondback's fan.  As a family we go to many games.  Between church and family commitments, I am a pretty busy guy.

Comps: Elder Griffin, Elder Gleave, Elder Hawks, Elder Walus, Elder Lewis (started and finished the mission together).  Areas served: Festitran, San Pedro Sula, San Jose, Managua, Guapeles, Le Consepcion, Panama

Memories: In my first area in San Pedro Sula I accidentally told a sister that her brother died instead of asking her for directions to his house. Her brother's name was Murrio and I said Murio.  Elder Gleave, my companion at the time, about fell over laughing.  I will never forget in my last area, Elder Lewis and I were out leaving blessings on homes when we came across a family that were in tears after we gave them a blessing.  We found out later that they had been praying for 6 months to know what church they should join.  Luis, the father, has gone on to be a branch president and be a backbone of the church in Panama.

Serving a mission was and has been the greatest blessing in my life (besides my children and maybe my wife!) President Muren was one of the greatest influences in my life.  And I will always be in debt to him for what he taught me.
