Bio of Jon Duke
Family:
Clint, age 27, married with 3 sons, Russia Rostov mission, BYU grad and Harvard
Law grad, now an IP attorney. Carl, age 25, married, Russia Moscow Mission, BYU
grad, getting JD/MBA. degree at the U of Utah. Connor, age 22, Zimbabwe, Africa
Mission, physics major at BYU. Cole, age 20, currently serving in Canada
Montreal Mission, attending BYU. I
married a beautiful woman who I dated before the mission. All of our son's have
stayed active in the church, and are all a lot of fun. My wife, Connor and I survived a plane
accident last May 18 in Arizona. The small
plane we were in stalled, crashed through some power lines, and burned. It was truly a miracle that we survived, and
since then I count every day as a blessing from my Heavenly Father (that's not
a brag, its very humbling).
Church: I've always had great callings, usually in
Young Men’s, including scoutmaster, deacons, teachers, priests and bishopric in
regular and student wards. Currently Young Single Adult rep in ward.
Education: Accounting degree at Boise State, and Law degree at BYU.
Work: I am a corporate attorney at Questar Corp in
SLC, and I also do estate planning (wills and trusts, etc.) for the
non-wealthy.
Hobbies: Lake Powell, skiing, water skiing, golf,
travel.
Community: I go to the Bountiful Fourth of July
parade sometimes. I am very involved
with the Edison School Project, which aids an inner city grade school in SLC,
especially during Christmas.
Comps: Lots of great guys.
Areas Served: San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa
Honduras, San Jose, and Panama City.
Memories: My very first door approach was a
classic. I asked the guy to throw us
out.
