Bio of Joseph Bradbury

Spouse: Margie.  I have 4 kids, Calle 22, Jennifer Leigh 21, Taft 19,and Halee 17. My sweet heart also has 3 girls and a boy also. Her youngest is 20 so we are almost kid-less.  The biggest things that we have to brag about are our grandchildren. We currently have 7 and number 8 will arrive next month. I'll have to admit that for as bad as a parent as I was, I am an unbelievable grandpa. Just ask the grandkids. They will agree.  Currently I am a home teacher and I serve on the activities committee. Go figure. I am not complaining I love having some home time. In the past I've served in several elders quorums presidencies, the bishopric, young men’s--teachers quorum adviser, and 10 years in the scouting program. Life has been good and I've met some wonderful people along the way, not unlike you.

I came to Provo the fall after my mission. I minored in Spanish, and majored in pre-dent. I was just about to graduate when I realized that what I really wanted was to work with my hands and create stuff. I became a masonry contractor specializing in high-end custom brick homes. Life has been very, very good for me.  What I do for work is very hard to explain to people. I became a deal junky or a business creator or something like that after my divorce in 1996. I currently own and operate 5 businesses. All of them are satisfying and time consuming.  I figure 4 to 5 more years and I'll cut back to 3 or 4. Right now I can be driving in any direction and be going the right way. That's a good thing, right?

I love the out of doors. I hunt with my bow. I pack into the backcountry on my mules and horses. I catch fish and hunt birds and I find myself living the wonderful life of a full-fledged red neck. I am pretty happy and life seems to get better with age. I had a wonderful opportunity a few years ago. I was hunting javalina down on the Verde River about 7 years ago with my neighbor from Provo, when it started raining buckets. I suggested we go up the road towards Payson. We were on Fossil Creek Rd. so we stopped by Pres Eagar’s house and lo and behold he was home alone for the week. He invited us in and asked us to stay with him. We obliged and hunted all day long and got to be his roommate in the evenings. What a wonderful time I had being able to hang out with the Pres in his own environment. He is a truly great guy. He is also completely full of wisdom and real life experience. I love the Man.

The sweetest thing I remember about the mission was when a very humble family would invite you into their very humble home, somehow scrap enough money together, send the kids down to the local pulparia, purchase 2 cold soda pops, run them back and set there and watch you drink them. It truly was an amazing testimony to how generous and kind those people were. I loved them dearly.  The mission was a wonderful place to change boys into men and girls into women. I loved my mission with all of my heart. I never wanted to ever regret that I hadn't worked hard enough or done all that I was sent there to do. And I never have.
