Bio of Larry Manning

Family: Married Margaret Thomas.  Six children: Aaron 27, Jonathan 25, Maria 21, Christina 19, James 16 and Thomas 13.  Margaret and I met soon after my release and were married 8 months later.  Our children bring great joy to us.  Aaron and Jonathan served Spanish-speaking mission also.  Aaron Graduated from BYU as a chemical engineer. Aaron, Jonathan and Maria have all been married in the Mesa Temple.  Christina and James are enjoying school and dating while I'm trying to keep up with Thomas.

Church: Through the years Margaret and I have served in many positions but our greatest church service comes through raising our children and now our grandchildren.

Work: After school and various employments, 17 years ago we decided to start our own business.  We help people become organized in their garages by designing and building storage cabinets.  We also apply decorative concrete coatings.  Although, having your own business isn't always wonderful it does provide some freedom and satisfaction.

Some of you are aware that while I was working in the office I became ill with diabetes.  After President Eagar helped me during that difficult time I was happy to be able to complete my mission in Granada, Nicaragua. Through complications with diabetes, about 10 years ago I underwent dialysis for 4 years until I was blessed with a new transplanted kidney.  I am ever grateful to Heavenly Father for modern medicine and the Gospel light that makes all of this possible.

I learned many things from my mission.  I learned that our Father in Heaven is within whispering distance.  I learned that my Mission President loves me and that I will never forget his love for me and for all of us.  I will never forget how I feel about my companions.  I want to say thank you to all of you that made my mission more than I expected it to be.
