Bio of Lyle LeFevre

Married Diane Heap.  Children: Kristin (21) attending BYU, to be married in May, Elise (19) attending Snow College, Marc Lyle (16) my only son, a sophomore at St Johns High, Katelyn (13), Lindsey (12) and Michelle (7).  That's 5 daughters and one son. I have a great family that keeps us going in many different directions. We are looking forward to gaining another son when our daughter gets married May 30th in the Manti Temple.  Our youngest daughter, Michelle, was born with Down syndrome and is such a joy to have in our family even thought she requires a lot of extra work.

Have served with the bishopric most of my married life as executive secretary, then counselor and then as bishop of the St Johns 3rd ward for 6 years.  Currently I teach the CTR 7 class in primary and serve as the ward financial secretary.  Teaching primary is the best calling I've ever had.  I've also served as scoutmaster in our ward.

Graduated from BYU in 1980 with a degree in education.  After graduating, I taught 5th grade for 3 years.  In 1983, I went back to school to learn computer programming.  Have worked as a programmer for Apache County in St Johns for the past 19 years.  Currently I am the head of the IT department and don't do much programming anymore. I enjoy long distance running to release the stress.  Have completed the St George Marathon twice, and hope to be able to do more, even thought the aches and pains of being over 40 are catching up with me.  I enjoy hiking and backpacking, having completed several 50 milers with the scouts and have hiked the Grand Canyon twice.  I have also served as the Scout District Chairman.

Companions: Allen Gerritsen, Eldton Gifford, Robin Hiatt, Dale Guthrie, Randy Goodman, Louis Lindsay, Kevin Pugmire, Raymond Fritz, Jerry Spangler, Elpidio Quijano.   Areas Served: Granada & Masiah, Nicaragua, San Pedro Sula & Le Ceiba, Honduras, San Antonio de Desamparodos, Costa Rica, Canal Zone in Panama.

Even though 25 years have gone by since I came home, I still remember the great impact serving a mission has had on my life.
