Bio of Nancy Homedew Player
Family:
Spouse: Bill. Children: Milena-22,
Michael-20, Matthew-18, Nathan-17, Maria-14, Hannah-12, Emily-12 and Joshua-9. Milena
studies and works (on occasion). She is
interested in writing, music, and theatre and is our resident computer expert. Michael
is on a mission in Argentina. He loves
everything about his mission--people, country, companions, speaking Spanish,
etc. He misses his family, his violin,
his dog and his dairy goats--that he raises. Matthew is in that hard stage
between school and mission. He's a
gymnast and coaches gymnastics at USU, attends Institute, dates a lot (group dates,
variety of girls--it's okay!). Nathan spends his life (outside school) with his
horse, at the gym, studying Book of Mormon history/culture, making stuff--he's
very creative, or dating.
Maria is a singer and dancer, plays the violin, loves
Seminary, likes to baby-sit and hang out with her friends. Hannah likes to
read, dance, do gymnastics and play with sisters and friends. We adopted her from Russia nearly three
years ago. Emily is a gymnast--competing with USU's Tytans Gymnastics. She's also a dancer, loves music (plays
violin and piano) and likes to talk--a lot! (makes us a little crazy,
sometimes). Joshua is also a gymnast, loves (and is good at) pretty much any
sport, likes to ride his pony, Sprinkles, is a little hyper--but lots of fun! (also
adopted from Russia nearly three years ago).
Church: I've done just about everything! Right now, I'm accompanist for our Ward
Choir.
Education: Graduated from USU in Education--a million
years ago! Continue to take classes and read about whatever interests me!
Work: Revolves around the family, house, etc. I've
taught piano for years.
Hobbies: Music, reading, my kids (and their friends).
You name it, I'd probably be interested in it.
Community: I'm an election judge whenever there's an
election. Involved in party politics with my husband.
Comps: Arleta Turley, Elzedia Kaaweehu, Iris Alfaro,
Lynette Prince, Gladys Zeitun, Xinia Vasquez, Leda Ramos
Areas Served: Panama City, San Jose Costa Rica, San
Pedro Sula Honduras
Learning Spanish has been a great blessing in my life--I use
it constantly. I'm grateful for all the
"Latina" companions I had, who taught me well. I have many dear friends among the Latino
community here (in Utah) and in California, where we lived most of our married
life, as well as all across the country.
