Bio of Todd (Greg) King
Family: Married 24 years to Valorie--an awesome wife
and mother. No grandkids yet, but
"we" are trying! We have been
very fortunate to have 8 great kids (all credit to mom!) Brittani 23, married, Brooke 22, Gregory
19--serving a mission in Spokane, WA, Christian 17, Sterling 14, Michael 11,
Matthew 8, Christee 5.
Callings: I have worked almost exclusively in the YM
organization--mostly with the priests.
Am currently serving as a new High Councilor (wow what a difference from
YM!!!). My family is my hobby. Sports take lots of time with 5 boys. Two years ago we had 12 baseball games a
week!
School and work: Graduated BYU in English, then an
MBA from BYU in 1981. I have been in
management consulting and training my whole career. Spent 12 years with Stephen Covey as a senior consultant. Now on
my own and having a great time. Had a chance to do a consulting project in
Monterrey, Mexico for a year. What a
fun experience! Great career.
Comps: James Taylor, John Fronk, Joe Bradbury, Clif
Smith, Luis Alvarez, Stephen Batt, James Ashmore, Jesse Judd, Miguel Gamez,
Randy Paul, Randy Olsen, Tom Box, David Holmes, Calvin Davis. Areas served: Tegucigalpa, Panama City,
Granada, Nic., San Pedro Sula, San Jose.
Favorite Mission Memories: Joe Bradbury cutting David
Zabriskie's hair. The barber couldn't
cut it short enough the next day to get all the gouges out. Robbie Gardner getting butchered by the
barber. Wouldn't come to church the
next day, and wore a hat for days.
Forming a "mission choir" under the direction of David
Zabriskie and singing on TV in Tegucigalpa--I got to play the guitar. Playing the guitar and singing for people in
the park in Granada with Elder Taylor.
We met some great people that way.
What a wonderful experience to have served in Central America with all of you. I had great companions (for the most part!), worked with terrific investigators, and met lots of wonderful people. The mission was truly a memory to be treasured.
