Church: Primary (including presidencies), Mutual (including presidency), Cub Scouts, Homemaking leader & Nursery leader at the same time, missionary committee, and currently food storage specialist. Also, I've supported my husband in his bishopric callings, and scoutmaster calling.
Education: Graduated in secretary training from U of U., and did elementary student teaching in bilingual education. Work: I've been very blessed and happy to stay home and care for my family. Once and a while for fun I substitute teach. One day at Skyline High I challenged the football team to a jump rope contest. I told them if they could beat me, they could do anything they chose for that period. I easily beat all of them. We did single jumps, chris-crosses, and double jumps. I thought it was funny that an old 49-year-old woman could out do them.
Hobbies: I've especially enjoyed running, biking, sewing, making up recipes, teaching, and art. Two years ago I learned to swim, and now I love it. Currently I am taking piano lessons, and I can even play a few hymns. I love to learn new things. However, my greatest interest is my family, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Comps: Carla Sharp, Janet Flynn, Gloria Hernandez (Elsi), Graciela Bonilla, Judy Kartchner, Sharon Johnson, Vicki Denny, Aura Salguero (Neca), Maria Quesada, and Colleen Griffin. I had some great companions. With experience and time my love and appreciation for each of them has grown.
Areas Served: San Jose, David, La Chorrera, Comayaguela, and Tegucigalpa.
When I chose to serve a mission, I thought I would be helping others. It turned out that I helped myself the most. Drawing from my experiences as a missionary has helped me spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. I am a much better servant of the Lord now than I ever would have been.
