Bio of Vickie (Chellson) Warr

Spouse: John Scott Warr.  We married in 1982 and built our home on some land that we received as a wedding present from Scotts’ parents in West Valley City.  Half of the families on our street are relatives and it has been great for our children to be best friends with their 1st and 2nd cousins.  We have four fantastic children.  John is 19 and on a mission in Arcadia California (the stake where I grew up is in part of his mission) and loving it, he has had some cultural adjustments right here in the USA.  Brent is almost 18 enjoying his senior year in Madrigals, Seminary Council, & drama. He is headed to BYU for a year of schooling before he leaves on his mission.  Mark is a sophomore and our social light at Granger High School.  Chelsea is 13 and in 7th grade at West Lake Junior High.

Education: After a lifetime of experiences on my mission in Central America I returned for my last year at BYU. I graduated in Accounting and accepted a job with Fox & Co. in Century City, California.  After missing Utah and 1 ½ years of smog and traffic, I transferred to our Salt Lake Office.  I moved into an apartment complex that was its own singles ward and met my wonderful husband Scott Warr.

Work: To keep some ties to California we purchased a beachfront condo at North Coast Village in San Diego North County (Oceanside) and visit a few times a year.  We started renting our condo when we weren’t using it.  We took on a friend’s condo to manage and are now managing 10 beach condos in the same complex.  We use Scott’s computer skills (working for Unisys since 1975) and my accounting background.  It is a nice little side business that we run from home while I stay home raising our children.  It’s called On-The-Sand.com.

Church: I have enjoyed being able to serve in many callings.  I have served as a Relief Society President and a counselor, Primary chorister, teacher, secretary, President, Stake Primary President, & RS Enrichment Night leader.  Presently I am a primary teacher, a calling that I have wanted for many years and just loving the 7 & 8 year olds.  I am also the YW camp director and am the Bishops wife.  Life is good and always busy.

Comps: Companions: Vilma Palacios, Eliana Setum, Sharon Esplin, Elsie Keaweehu, Susan Lathrom, Buffy Quinney, La Rae Judy, Linda Bowles, & Reina Estella Marroquin.  Areas served: Costa Rica -Desamparados & San Francisco de Dos Rios; Panama - La Chorrera; Honduras - La Kennedy, San Pedro Sula; Costa Rica -San Pedro.  My mission experiences have helped in every area of my life.  Scott and I hope to serve a mission together someday.
