Bio of Waldo Ray
Greetings
fellow missionaries! Life has been good
to me. The mission was a great
experience and it is still on going. My
family has just added to my life. I
have a very short bio because no matter if I were to be Bill Gates or President
Bush my mother would still tell me and you that I need to pick up my feet,
don't slouch, don't be late, and a million other things. When I married Becky my mother immediately
made her the daughter and I began to be treated like a son in law. So, I feel I have two mothers in law. That is fine by me. The one thing that my mother taught me that
I think of at each meal is that she taught me to always eat my desert first.
Yeah!! I am just happy to be here.
We have moved 18 times since we have been married. We have made a lot of friends along the way. We are now in Chino Valley, AZ. We live on a dusty acre in a manufactured home. I call it a trailer house just to bug my kids. My daughter Lydia just came back from Mexico and as she came in the house she said she was glad she did not live there. There is no place like home. Whenever I go to Mexico we visit all the places that remind me of the mission and remind my family how good they have it. I slaughtered a pig last week and hung it up over night just to remember what meat looks like hanging up and not all wrapped up in neat little packages. My girls helped cut it up and put it in the freezer the following morning. There is nothing like homegrown pork chops. Not even beans and rice can compare. Rice and beans might come close though.
We come to Utah often. I have two daughters with husbands living in Provo. We usually don't make it that far north; so they come down to visit us at Lake Powell. It is just hard to pass up such a nice lake. We will try to come to the reunion since it will be in Oct. We may not if we get stalled at the state line. I still have to decide weather it is worth going to a reunion where we will all get a reality check. Most of us still remember each other as wonderful missionaries and now we are all ordinary blown out citizens. As my kids put it, over the hill.
Chino Valley is a fertile field. Not only can we grow kids, gardens, and weeds, we can help in the Lords harvest along the way.
I was reading another Bio - I think it was Burdettes. He said he had five sons and a daughter. Just to keep things balanced, we have five daughters and a son. They carry their parents. Which is only right.
If you want to see my web page go to www.sellingchinovalley.com. You are always welcome to come visit us here if you are driving down I-40 or just passing through. We are eight miles north of Prescott, AZ. A great place to live, mild climate and the last place a terrorist would look. God bless all of you, Waldo Ray
